–Finding relief through support
The struggle and pain that leave you feeling unhappy and alone (even in a room full of people) need to be addressed. This means recognizing that things may have gotten away from you. It also means making the decision to get out of your own way and seek help to find your way forward.
Men and women are often taught to value being self-sufficient above all else, seeing the need for help as weakness and failure.
While being self-sufficient is important in many ways, it does not apply the same way when we are in need.
In the African Savannah, animals instinctively seek the safety of others when predators are near. Struggling animals are moved to the center of the herd where they can be nurtured and protected until they are stronger.
Standing out alone and vulnerable, generally leads to disastrous consequences and provides no real benefit.
You can continue to struggle with self-loathing, fear, and unhappiness – or you can do something about it.
Support, validation, growth, and solutions are what the therapy experience is all about.
It starts with a call.
Seeking help begins with your initial phone call to Advanced Behavioral Health.
The experience of getting help should not be harder than the challenges you are already facing. A simple call to schedule a free, in-person consultation with a therapist will give you a chance to see what therapy may be like, including whether you and the therapist are a good fit.
After your introductory consultation meeting (15-20 minutes), an initial assessment visit is scheduled.
Following the consultation meeting, each appointment is approximately 50-55 minutes. Our meetings will occur in an office environment designed to be welcoming, professional and comfortable, and different lighting can be utilized to accommodate your needs. Online teletherapy appointments are also available when travel is difficult or undesirable. Please see our FAQ page to learn which insurances we accept.
Our goals and beliefs
Advanced Behavioral Health was created to provide compassionate growth and change, and to address ongoing challenges in our current system of care. These challenges often include: the inability to gain access to a therapist in a reasonable amount of time, lack of coordination and integration between the therapist and other healthcare providers, treatment not linked to evidence-based practices or outcomes, and follow-up support to ensure the maintenance and continuation of successes/gains after therapy is over.
To assist with overcoming challenges to accessing care, Advanced Behavioral Health has partnered with healthcare entities such as Cancer Care Northwest to provide integrated collaborative care between medical teams and our seasoned mental health care clinicians. If care is easier to access and barriers are removed, we believe more people will experience the benefits of “Whole Person Care.”
We believe in the use of technology to provide convenience and access to information, data, and resources, such as online therapy (tele-health), as well as easy scheduling and messaging.
I’m still not sure about this therapy stuff.
If you have never tried working with a therapist before, call today and try it out for free.
Most people who attend therapy for the first-time report that if they had known how much therapy would help them, they would have gone sooner.
Give yourself a chance to experience help. You don’t have to go it alone; we are here to help.
