Individual Therapy/Personal Growth

Dead-end spiral…

“How did I get here, and where did it all go so wrong?”

Feeling depressed and/or anxious about your past or future is exhausting and painful. Even if you know exactly how you got to this point in your life, it can make you feel so weak and so worthless at times.

You thought things would get better on their own. Alternatively, you didn’t know what to do about it. Living with ongoing pain and sadness for many years is not the solution.

If you let them, these thoughts often just keep spiraling downward until you feel overwhelmed, fearful, anxious, and depressed.

Finding what works…

Thomas Edison has been noted as saying that he didn’t fail 1,000 times in his attempts to invent the light bulb, he merely found 999 ways that didn’t work.

When our feelings lead us to believe that all is lost and we are incapable of making it work, it is helpful to realize that we haven’t failed at life – we just have found the ways that don’t work for us.

Edison said, “Many of life’s failures are people who did not know how close they were to success when they gave up.” He also said, “When you have exhausted all the possibilities, just remember this: you haven’t.”

When you begin noticing that your life is not what you want it to be, it is a courageous act to demonstrate the willingness and strength to seek help and find what works for you.

Growth is worth the discomfort.

Personal growth requires looking at ourselves with a critical but positive eye with the goal of improving and becoming the people we want to become.

As you may have guessed, this means often going outside of our comfort zone or the place where you feel safe and at ease.

In fact, staying in our comfort zone can at times be downright detrimental to our becoming happier and the best version of ourselves.

We can help you find the courage and the motivation to venture outside of your comfort zone until the changes you make become more a part of who you are.

Wherever you are in the process, getting help through individual therapy is the key to moving forward.

I’m not sure about this therapy stuff.
